PRUNING STANDARDS & SCOPE OF WORK
TO BE PERFORMED
STANDARD PRUNING:
Pruning of entire tree to remove deadwood down to 1/2" in
diameter, interfering limbs where practical, clearances for (house,
walks, drives and streets) where needed, weight reduction on long heavy
limbs and selective removal of interior growth. This does not completely
remove all interior growth. We do not advocate striping or over
thinning. (See Over-Pruning)
CLASS II PRUNE:
Standard prune with the exception that deadwood down to 1" in diameter will be removed.
CLASS III PRUNE:
Standard prune with the exception that deadwood down to 2" in diameter will be removed.
CLEARANCES:
Roof clearance 3-4 feet, walks 7 feet, drives and residential
streets12 feet, & roads 14-15 feet.
WEIGHT REDUCTION:
Selective removal of limbs at the ends of long heavy branches.
ALL TREES ARE DIFFERENT & UNIQUE:
The above specifications are a general guideline. Where special
circumstances exist, these situations will be addressed on an individual
basis.
PLEASE NOTE: NONE OF OUR PRUNING COMPLETELY REMOVES INTERIOR GROWTH
OR SPROUTS AS THEY ARE CALLED. THIS IS STRIPPING OF LIMBS AND IS NOT A
HEALTHY OR PROPER APPROACH TO PRUNING.
TREE REMOVAL AND STUMP GRINDING:
This is a two step process. The first crew removes the tree as
close to ground level as possible. Then, the stump grinding crew is
scheduled to return, usually in 7 – 10 days to grind the stump. Stumps
are normally ground to a depth of 6 – 8 inches unless other
provisions are made. WE CANNOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR UTILITIES OR
IRRIGATION LINES WHICH HAVE NOT BEEN IDENTIFIED.
There are species that will produce root sprouts, Cottonwood, Chinese
Tallow, Crepe Myrtle, even if the stump and surface roots are completely
ground out. They must be handled with additional treatment.
