many benefits of trees and their proper care.
The information noted above expresses only a few
examples of our commitment to our local

and tree owners with which we are fortunate
enough to
work.
The "Ice
Tree" Man Cometh
One story of
such involvement is of a treeman, one Chris
Brewer - who is known to be bravest of the brave
and fears no tree - in any weather.
We received an emergency call
during an ice storm, and a story developed.
Chris Brewer, left, drove in
the ice one night recently to try to save a
domestic bird that had flown high up into a
tree. There was a crowd of people there when he
arrived, including Animal Control among others.
It was 29 degrees and raining heavily…that’s
right 29 and rain. Nasty weather….really nasty.
Few people could even stand in that weather.
Some are willing to do much more. (Read the
story to the right by his wife.) |
A Cockatiel's
Story
The bravest of treemen is Christopher Brewer,
So noble and fearless, it couldn’t be truer.
One night, in distress, helpless damsel did
call,
When her pet had escaped to a tree very tall!
‘Twas the darkest of nights, with a freezing
cold drizzle,
And the girl’s cockatiel was in trouble, for
shizzle.
Five hours this tropical bird had been out,
And his very survival was in greatest doubt.
When suddenly, there did arrive on the scene,
A tall, handsome arborist, in a jacket of green.
“Have no fear, miss!” he cried, and began his
ascent,
Armed with saddle and rope, up the big tree he
went.
Soon, the crowd that had gathered heard squawks
in the night,
Then a huge shower of feathers was a terrible
sight.
Now, down climbed the treeman, who spoke not a
word,
Landed gracefully and gave his client the bird!
He
had risked life and limb in the climate near
zero,
But all who had seen him called Chris Brewer a
hero.

... a true
story When I called him about the
issue, I was amazed at Chris’ response to the
challenge. I have so much I could say. His wife
captures the moment above much better than I
ever could.
