Arborilogical’s Pastenes Wins 2006 Texas Tree Climbing Championship

Goes on to Win Belayed Speed Climb in World Event

2006 was a banner year for Arborilogical Services during the Tree Climbing Championships at the Chapter and the International level. In May, Miguel Pastenes won the Texas Tree Climbing Championship with an incredible performance in the Masters Challenge (the final event). Waco’s Texas Ranger Museum was the venue and 30 of Texas best battled for the right to represent the Texas Chapter at the International Tree Climbing Champion­ship (ITCC) held in Minneapolis, Minnesota in August. Miguel won the Belayed Speed Climb event, marking the first time a champion medal in any event has been brought home to Texas since the competition was changed in 1985.  Miguel competed well in the other events in his second ITCC and gained valuable International experience that will hopefully lead to an opportunity to make the International Finals next year in Hawaii. Miguel is an incredibly talented tree worker and his climbing skills are becoming among the very best in the world. This year’s ITCC will be held in Honolulu in August.  Miguel will have to successfully defend his Chapter title in order to have the opportunity to go to Hawaii in August and take another shot at the 2007 International Championship.
