Arborilogical Services, Inc.® has supported the following organizations since our inception in 1981 with several consulting arborists serving as president, board member, and chair for the Texas Tree Climbing Competition, among many other leadership roles. We are committed to our industry by providing leadership, guidance, volunteer, and financial support.
International Society of Arboriculture, Texas Chapter
Almost all professional arborists are members of the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA), including all of our consulting arborists. Kevin Bassett, Steve Houser, and Russell Peters are all lifetime members. ISA has regional chapters around the world with the statewide organization being the International Society of Arboriculture, Texas Chapter.
Tree Care Industry Association
Another key organization supported by most all professional tree care firms is the Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA). The original name of TCIA was the National Arborist Association until the group expanded to an international role.
ISA Oak Wilt Certification
A number of years ago the Texas Chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture established a certification for those properly trained in managing Oak Wilt, a very deadly pathogen found in many parts of Texas. One of our Plant Pathologists, Russell Peters, completed his Masters Degree thesis on Oak Wilt. Russell's technical training combined with our companies 40 years of experience managing the disease ensures that our arborists are well trained on the subject.
Texas Department of Agriculture and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension
The Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) is the lead agency in the regulation of pesticide use and application. TDA is responsible for licensing and training pesticide applicators, overseeing worker protection, registering pesticides for sale in the state and working to minimize unnecessary impacts to agriculture while still protecting endangered and threatened species.
Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Services, is an education agency that provides programs for certification and continuing education needs, as well as study materials for the pesticide applicator license exams. In addition, they provide education and support for consumers in the proper use of pesticides.
